Oregon Contractor License Renewal (CCB)
Last reviewed October 2026
An Oregon Construction Contractors Board (CCB) license lasts two years. To renew it you need continuing education done, a bond and liability insurance on file with the CCB, and the $400 fee. The bond and insurance matter during the license too: if either is cancelled or the insurance expires, the license can be suspended or lapse before its renewal date.

Oregon Electrician License Renewal
Last reviewed October 2026
Oregon electrician licenses from the Building Codes Division (BCD) run on a three-year cycle, and most licenses of one type expire on the same date: the next one is Oct. 1, 2027 for general journeyman and limited residential electricians and Oct. 1, 2028 for general and limited supervising electricians. A general journeyman or general supervising electrician renews for $100 with 24 hours of approved CE, including code change hours and a 4-hour Oregon rule and law course. Miss the date and you can't work under the license; within one year you can reapply without retesting, after that you retest.
- Renews every
- Three years. Most licenses of one type expire on the same date, so a first license can be short; the expiration date is printed on your license

Miss the date and you can't work under the license; within one year you can reapply without retesting, after that you retest.

Oregon Landscape Contractor License Renewal
Last reviewed October 2026
Landscape construction work for pay in Oregon, such as planting, irrigation and drainage, needs a license from the State Landscape Contractors Board (LCB); some hardscape work can also be done under a Construction Contractors Board (CCB) license. There are two: the individual Landscape Construction Professional (LCP) license and the landscape contracting business license, and every licensed business needs at least one LCP. Both renew every year, by the last day of the month the license was first issued, through the LCB's online portals. LCPs report continuing education every two years at renewal, and the business keeps its bond ($20,000 for most licenses), its liability insurance and any workers' comp current. A license renewed late is active again only from the day the LCB updates the record, and after two years you apply as new.
- Renews every
- Year, for both licenses: the renewal fee is due on or before the last day of the month the license was first issued (ORS 671.660). Renewed on time, the license runs to the last day of that month a year later
- Continuing education
- LCPs complete it every two years and report it at renewal: in odd-numbered years for odd-numbered licenses and even-numbered years for even-numbered licenses. The LCB's page asks for 16 hours if you've been licensed less than 6 years and 8 hours if 6 years or more; ORS 671.676's minimum is 16 hours for six years or less of active licensure and 8 for more than six, so ask the LCB if you're at six years. Courses must come from the LCB's approved list, or be approved through its Individual Class Approval Form before you renew
