  • Arkansas Electrician License Renewal

    Last reviewed October 2026

Arkansas electrician licenses (master, residential master, journeyman, residential journeyman, industrial maintenance and sign specialist among them) renew every year, on the date shown on the license. Masters and journeymen, residential ones included, also need 8 hours of National Electrical Code continuing education for each code cycle, finished in the cycle's first year. Renew late and you pay a year's fee again plus $10 a month; after 36 months you retake the exam and pay a $1,000 penalty.

    Renews every
Year. A license expires on the date shown on it, and the Board's rules set that at the last day of the month, one year after it was issued
    Continuing education
Master, residential master, journeyman and residential journeyman electricians complete at least 8 hours of continuing education for each National Electrical Code (NEC) cycle, in the first year of each new code cycle, before renewing. The hours cover the NEC and count only from Board-approved courses
  • Arkansas Contractor License Renewal

    Last reviewed October 2026

Arkansas commercial and residential contractor licenses from the Contractors Licensing Board are renewed every year, before the license's expiration date. The renewal application and fee can be done in the board's online portal, but commercial, residential builder and unlimited licenses also need financial information (a financial statement, a bond in lieu of one, or a balance sheet) and current proof of workers' compensation coverage if you have employees. A renewal is on time only if the board has the completed application, fee and financials by the expiration date; a commercial or residential builder renewal that's late costs $100 instead of $50. A license can be renewed up to two years after it expires, but not for the time it was expired.

    Renews every
Year. A license expires a year after it was issued (for a commercial license, the law says the day before the anniversary of its issue date) unless the board sets another date: the expiration date on your license is the one that counts
    Continuing education
None. Neither the commercial nor the residential licensing law or rules set a CE requirement for renewal
  • Arkansas Plumber License Renewal

    Last reviewed October 2026

Arkansas master and journeyman plumber licenses, and apprentice registrations, from the Department of Health expire every year on December 31, so the next one expires December 31, 2026. The law asks you to renew within 30 days after the expiration date; the Department warns that a license expired more than 30 days won't be renewed without sufficient justification, and must be reinstated. The annual fee is $200 for a master and $75 for a journeyman. Reinstating an expired license costs $325 for a master or $150 for a journeyman, plus any back fees and penalties, and the Department decides whether you need to retake the exam.

    Renews every
1 year: master and journeyman plumber licenses and apprentice registrations expire on December 31 each year. Next: December 31, 2026
    Continuing education
The Department's licensing rules set no continuing education hours for master or journeyman plumbers (they set refresher training for plumbing inspectors and recertification for backflow testers). Check with the Department if you're unsure
  • Arkansas HVACR License Renewal

    Last reviewed October 2026

Class A, B, D and E HVACR licenses from the Arkansas HVACR Licensing Board (Department of Labor and Licensing) last one year: under the Board's rules each expires on the last day of the month, one year from the original date of issuance, and the law asks for the renewal and fee before the expiration date. The yearly fee is $200 for Class A and $150 for Class B, D or E. No license is renewed without at least 8 hours of Board-approved continuing education per International Mechanical Code cycle, and you show proof of at least $250,000 of liability insurance at each renewal. A late renewal adds a $10 penalty for each month, and after more than three years delinquent you retake the exam.

    Renews every
1 year. Under the Board's rules a license expires on the last day of the month, one year from the original date of issuance. The law asks you to submit the renewal and fee before the expiration date
    Continuing education
No HVACR license is renewed unless you complete at least 8 hours of continuing education per current International Mechanical Code cycle, in courses the Board has approved (the Department posts its list of approved CEU providers). The course provider's attendance roster, which the provider sends to the Board, is the only proof of completion the Board accepts. The rule asks for the hours to be completed before the final year of the code cycle; check with the Department which date applies to you
